Academy return to St. George’s Park
Sinton, who previously was capped 12 times by England, has now been with the Academy for a number of seasons on a consultancy basis and was keen to impart his international wisdom on the current FootballCV intake.
The session started off with some possession drills, the progressed into switching the play. This will hopefully be transferred into Wednesday tough away trip to Kidderminster Harriers in the Football Conference Youth Alliance. The squad were also involved in some tactical awareness working on defensive shape, before moving onto crossing and finishing. The Academy players were learning a lot, as a result of Sinton’s vast experience as an ex England winger.
James Booth, currently with the Academy on a Short Course said “The facility is amazing place, and it was a great opportunity to have to train there. I felt I have been learning a lot from all the coaches whilst I have been at the Academy, and Andy was giving us some great advice to help us develop. I am so glad I booked onto a Short Course and I would recommend anyone to attend.”
The Academy will be returning to St. George’s Park this term, again for a guest session with Andy Sinton.
