The Academy brought their English Colleges League campaign to a close with a draw against local rivals, New College Stamford.
Grant Brown’s side dominated the early proceedings with little reward for their fine play, but the breakthrough did eventually come with 26 minutes on the clock.
T’ai Williams was fouled in the box, and stepped up to take the penalty himself. His effort from 12 yards was parried, but he made no mistake from the rebound.
An equaliser came for New College Stamford on the stroke of half-time courtesy of a penalty of their own, one which was coolly slotted beyond Charley Giffen in the FCV goal.
The Academy came out after the break and were on top yet again, bossing possession, but being denied by a combination of heroic defending and the woodwork.
FCV’s second goal finally came via Beknur Uluu, who pounced on yet another rebound to fire home into the top corner.
The visitors were made to pay for their missed chances late on, though, Stamford making it 2-2 with a wonderful free-kick deep into stoppage time.
