FCV Academy's scholar competition is drawing to a close, and the final few have been selected ahead of this Friday's finale.
Teaming up with FourFourTwo Performance, FCV Academy are offering two pro level scholarships led by UEFA-qualified coaches: a one-year full scholarship as a day student and a one-year 50% scholarship on the residential full-time programme.
Brandon Taverner – the winner of the 2016 competition – was playing Sunday League football this time last year, but now he's full-time with the FCV Academy, based at Borderville Stadium, Stamford.
All entrants into the competition attended a training session with FCV where they were assessed by coaches Ben Watts and Grant Brown, and a lucky few were then selected to return for this week's development camp and showcase match at Borderville.
The finalists wlll train all week with the squad, and will also sit psychological tests before taking part in Friday's match.
Residential scholarship finalists:
Joseph Moore - Striker, currently signed with Scottish side Alloa Athletic
Diandre Henry - Midfielder playing for Romulus U18s
Emmanuel Olayinka - Defender signed with Bromley
Day-student scholarship finalists:
Luke Oswick - Midfielder
Lamar Griffiths - Defender
Winners will be announced at 4pm on Friday, with all runners-up receiving a free place at the Leicester City showcase match.
