FCV travelled to Eastwood to play PSUSA Academy in the Central Conference League Cup on Monday, and despite qualification already being guaranteed, they left with a 4-1 win.
Grant Brown’s side made the breakthrough just after the half-hour mark, when defender Lewis Saunders played through Khalid Rahim, who in turn squared for Rudolf Blagogee to score.
Rahim and Blagogee were proving to be quite the partnership for FCV, as the pair combined again to produce the second goal. Blagogee this time the provider, crossing for his team-mate to head home and give the visitors a 2-0 half-time lead.
The third goal came shortly after the break for FCV, with a move started and finished by the impressive Josh Egbuson. He fed Blagogee, who again delivered a fine cross for Egbuson to rise and head in with the assistance of the far post.
PSUSA Academy responded well and deservedly pulled a goal back, albeit through sloppy defending, but FCV added a fourth shortly after the home side's consolation.
Amos Dadet picked up the ball 20 yards from goal, beating both a defender and the goalkeeper before slotting home to round off the 4-1 win.
