A busy fixture schedule for FCV Academy began this week, with a Friday double-header against Grantham College.
Friday produced a win and a draw, before attention turned to Monday night's Central Conference League Cup Final against Brooke House College. The game takes place at Harborough Town and FCV Academy were defeated 4-0.
Then, on Wednesday, it was a trip to Leicester City for the squad as they faced the Foxes’ International Academy in a fixture at Holmes Park, the home of the club's U23 squad. It resulted in a 5-2 defeat for the Academy, but Brandon Taverner and Sven Hart were on the score sheet in a good display. Members of the FCV squad that did not travel to Leicester played Yaxley and were defeated 5-4.
On Friday, it was another match with the Strachan Football Foundation, and Grant Brown's side were again defeated by the side, but this time 9-0.
On the following Monday, FCV faced Stafford Rangers away in the Mike Hughes Memorial Shield semi-final and pulled off a fine win. After being two goals down, the Academy rallied and came back to win 3-2 to secure a place in the final.
Then, it was a fixture against Advanced Football Development Academy on Wednesday which the team lost 3-0.
The squad return to Borderville for a home fixture against the Strachan Football Foundation with pride at stake to round off the busy period.
